The Belfry will move to filmed productions for our Spring 2021 Season
Victoria, BC... the Belfry Theatre announced today that it will be moving to filmed productions for the Spring 2021 Season.
Originally, we had planned to have a socially distanced audience in the theatre, while also live-streaming each performance in real time.
While we have developed extensive protocols, trained staff and felt ready to welcome artists and small, socially distanced audiences back to the theatre, COVID-19 and the local and national health orders continue to impact our plans.
The health and safety of our patrons and artists made changing our approach and abandoning all in-person audiences an obvious and easy decision for us.
However, we are excited to announce that we will be filming our premiere productions of Being Here: The Refugee Project and Same Old Same Old—a first for the Belfry! The third filmed production—musical in nature—will be announced shortly.
We will be broadcasting these productions on the following dates:
Being Here: The Refugee Project (March 16 - 21)
Same Old Same Old (June 1 - 6)
Musical Production (Dates to be announced)
Performances will be available for viewing exclusively on the scheduled dates and subscribers and ticket holders will be able to start watching anytime from 11 am to 8 pm (PST) each day the show is on. We’ll have box office staff online to answer questions and solve any technical issues that arise.
Online tickets for both of those productions are available at tickets.belfry.bc.ca.
We’ve contacted our season ticket holders and are in the process of contacting everyone who has bought single tickets for any of the performances.
