The Belfry Theatre's 2025 SPARK Festival opens on March 8.
Featuring new works by Anand Rajaram (currently starring in Behind the Moon), Amanda Sum, Joel Bernbaum and Yvette Nolan.

Victoria, BC...From March 8 to 23, 2025, the Belfry Theatre will present its annual SPARK Festival. Highlights include:
Crosstown, written and performed by Anand Rajaram (Qadir Bhai in Behind the Moon), is a Toronto Fringe 2024 hit solo show addressing class, abortion, ambition, and faulty memory. https://www.belfry.bc.ca/event/crosstown/
The Climate Play, Co-Written & Co-Directed by Joel Bernbaum & Yvette Nolan. For the past two years, Joel and Yvette have been working with theatres in cities across the country on this verbatim theatre project about climate change. (Play Reading of the Victoria edition). https://www.belfry.bc.ca/event/the-climate-play/
New Age Attitudes: Live in Concert, Created, Crafted & Performed by Amanda Sum. Theatre-maker and JUNO-nominated musician Amanda Sum de-digitizes her identity-drenched indie-pop album into a handmade book. Each audience member is given a personalized book to read together and discover a new way of listening and receiving. https://www.belfry.bc.ca/event/new-age-attitudes/
The Festival will also feature play readings, The Flame workshop and storytelling event, and a performance created and performed by high school students in our Belfry B101 program. Oh, and one miniplay, The Funeral Plot, in a secret theatre within the Belfry.
Seating is very limited, especially for Crosstown and New Age Attitudes: Live in Concert.
