The Belfry Theatre suspending public performances.

With an abundance of caution, and for the health and safety of our audiences, volunteers, staff and community the Belfry Theatre will suspend public performances and events immediately.

We will reevaluate the situation in the weeks ahead and anticipate making a new statement on or before March 31 when we are scheduled to start rehearsals for our comedy, 1979.

As we receive more information, we will provide updates on our website in the coming weeks.

We are acting with an abundance of caution as a not-for-profit organization and have carefully considered the tremendous impact of this decision.

We apologize for any inconvenience to visitors who may be affected.

We will be in touch regarding tickets to any cancelled performances. Please contact us at 250-385-6815 or hello@belfry.bc.ca if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

A word on Belfry 101

Rehearsals for Belfry 101—our high school program—are set to start on Monday. We hope to proceed with this program, but this decision will be guided by the students and their parents. If rehearsals proceed, the students will present a closed performance for family members only, on Sunday, March 22,

About Belfry Theatre

The Belfry is a professional not-for-profit theatre company in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

We produce contemporary theatre from the international repertoire with an emphasis on new Canadian plays.

With love, from scratch, and with some of the country's best theatre artists, we build, rehearse and create our plays in our own home, a renovated 19th century church in Fernwood - the city's most interesting neighbourhood.
